FASTeTEN project holds ninth project management board meetingThe FASTeTEN project held its ninth project management board meeting on 16 September 2009, at the premises of E@syConnects in Chapeltown, South Yorkshire, England. The meeting discussed possible deployments of the FAST bundle of services in South Yorkshire, and in Prato, Italy. Potential deployers in these locations are considering joining the FASTeTEN project to carry forward work that has already been done in Sheffield (UK) and Valencia (Spain). The deployment under discussion in South Yorkshire would deal with police and neighbourhood security services, while the potential deployment in Prato would relate to provision of electronic forms to citizens, and automatic completion, validation and timestamping of the forms. For more information about these potential deployments, read the previous article on the FASTeTEN website. E@syConnects is the potential project partner in South Yorkshire. E@syConnects works across the South Yorkshire region, with the objective of connecting local public services, such as employment advice services, online health information and medical appointments, and educational services. The project management board meeting was held one day before an event in Rotherham, South Yorkshire on ’raising the game’ for local and regional eGovernment services. One objective of the workshop was to be brainstorming on potential applications for the FAST bundle of services. The date of the next project management board meeting is to be decided. FASTeTEN is a project to deploy a bundle of services for secure electronic document exchange across Europe. The bundle of services, FAST – Fournisseur d’Accès Sécurisés Transactionnels (Secure Access Gateway) – has been successfully developed and piloted in France. FASTeTEN will demonstrate FAST in different eGovernment contexts in Spain and the United Kingdom. A group of potential future deployers will monitor the demonstration deployments with a view to further implementations of FAST across Europe.
