The FASTeTEN project, supported by the European Commission’s eTEN programme, has been extended by twelve months until the end of 2010. This extension will allow the project to build on its existing pilot activities and integrate two new pilots in Italy and the United Kingdom.

FASTeTEN is a project to deploy a bundle of services for secure electronic document exchange across Europe. The bundle of services, FAST – Fournisseur d’Accès Sécurisés Transactionnels (Secure Access Gateway) – has been successfully developed and piloted in France. FASTeTEN is working on FAST demonstrations in different eGovernment contexts in Valencia, Spain and Sheffield, UK. To this will now be added demonstration projects in Prato, Italy, and South Yorkshire, UK.
